Yes. Redstrings is available for Windows 11 and macOS through the Microsoft Store and Mac App Store.

Yes. The core board and local project files work offline. Gemini analysis, Share Project, web links, store purchases, and purchase restoration need an internet connection when you use them.

Redstrings stores project files locally on your computer in .redstrings folders. Redstrings has no account requirement or sync service. Publishing a project with Redstrings Share is optional and uploads a public copy of that project.

Free includes unlimited boards, cards, and red strings, all seven built-in card types, search, board decorations, and project, PNG, and Markdown exports. Pro adds Share Project, more board frames, themes, custom card types, custom relationship controls, Gemini analysis, the prompt library, saved reports, and an experimental MCP server for supported AI clients.

Gemini AI analysis is a Pro feature. You provide your own Gemini API key, and the board content you select goes directly to Google when you run analysis.

Yes. Redstrings can export project files, PNG images, and Markdown reports. You can share those exported files using the method you choose. Pro also adds Share Project, which publishes a project to a public link.

Yes, with Redstrings Pro in the desktop app on Windows or macOS. Choose File → Share Project to publish the open project to a public link on share.redstrings.app. The public copy includes every board, folder, card, note, source, tag, URL, saved report, image, and supported attachment in the project. Publishing needs a free Redstrings Share account. You sign in with your email and a one-time code. There is no password.

No. Anyone with the link can open the project in a browser. Visitors can explore and rearrange it. Their changes stay in their own browser tab and do not change your project or the public copy.

No. Your Share account email is never shown publicly. If you list a project in the public library, it shows the author name you choose. The name can be an alias.

Open the project, choose File → Share Project, then choose Unpublish and confirm. The link stops working. To delete your Share account and the projects it published, go to share.redstrings.app/delete-account.

The public library at share.redstrings.app lists featured projects and all listed projects, newest first. A project appears there only if its owner turns on Show in the public library when publishing. That option is off by default and needs an author name.

Only if you allow it. The Allow search engines option is off by default. When it is off, the project page asks search engines not to index it. The link works either way.
